Covid-19 at Shawnee Mission UU Church
worship and General Programming
As of April 11, 2023, the Board of Trustees has moved to update the following changes to our regular Covid-19 protocols. This process and further details can be found in the April 2023 President's Letter, written by Board President Adam Koehler.
The Board of Trustees will notify SMUU Church if the Johnson County risk-level moves to Medium (yellow) or High (red), but we will no longer be requiring any action or restricting activities based on these risk classifications. This means:
Fellowship will be available, regardless of Johnson County risk level.
Activities will proceed as scheduled, regardless of Johnson County risk level.
Masks will be made available for anyone who wants to wear one, but will not be required for anyone, regardless of Johnson County risk level. (We highly encourage masking for those at high risk when we transition outside of Green.)
Covid-19 vaccinations/booster shots are highly recommended but no longer required, regardless of Johnson County risk level.
We will still stream our service on YouTube each Sunday, and we encourage anyone who may have been exposed to Covid-19 or who may be feeling ill to attend virtually.
If you would like to keep track of the Covid-19 risk level, you can use the CDC Covid County Check below to view the current risk level. This tool is updated each Thursday evening.
Please note: The executive committee & board reserve the ability to make changes to this as needed going forward in response to local conditions that may require restrictions again in coordination with public health recommendations.
